Beneath The Trees was born from a simple idea: that the spaces we gather in matter. For years, Jeff and I dreamed about creating a place where people could slow down, reconnect with nature, and share meaningful moments together. A place that felt welcoming, grounded, and a little bit sacred.
Our story began far from here. We met in South Korea while teaching English, and from there our lives unfolded through years of travel, living abroad, and backpacking across different parts of the world. Along the way we stayed in countless homes, hostels, and hidden places that welcomed travelers in. What stayed with us most weren’t the big destinations — it was the feeling of the spaces we stayed in. The small details that made a place feel warm, intentional, and alive. The kind of places where even after months on the road, you could arrive and immediately feel at home.
Eventually we returned to the United States with the hope of creating something like that ourselves.
Before settling down, we converted a van and traveled the country searching for where that dream might live. Jeff spent countless hours tracking real estate listings while we continued exploring different landscapes and communities.
The moment we stepped onto this land, we knew we had found it.
The forest, the quiet, the feeling of being held by the landscape — it was everything we had imagined without fully knowing how to describe it.
Since 2019 we have slowly shaped this property with our own hands. It has been a process of learning, building, planting, repairing, and dreaming. Many friends have contributed their time, guidance, and energy along the way.
What you see today is the result of those years of work — and in many ways, the result of those early years of dreaming together.
Beneath The Trees is our way of sharing this space with others.
Here you’ll find places designed for intimate gatherings, celebrations, retreats, and quiet stays in nature. Whatever brought you, the intention is the same:
to create a space where people can gather, breathe deeply, and feel connected — to nature, to each other, and to themselves.
We’re grateful you found your way here.

Our outdoor training area is simple and functional. Surrounded by trees and open sky, it offers room to move freely without the noise or pressure of a traditional gym. It’s a quiet, natural setting that supports both effort and ease—an environment that makes training feel clear, grounded, and refreshing.

Tucked quietly into the woods, our wood-fired sauna offers a grounded, restorative experience surrounded by nature. The space fits 4–6 people comfortably and is paired with a private bathroom and shower for a full, uninterrupted ritual. Whether used after a workout, as part of a gathering, or simply for your own reset, the sauna invites you to slow down, warm up, and let the forest hold the rest.

We’ve created two open gathering pads on the property—simple, natural spaces designed to adapt to whatever you need. These areas can transform into a ceremony site, meditation circle, class space, vendor setup, or any small gathering you’re hosting. Set against the backdrop of trees and open sky, each pad offers a level, spacious foundation while still feeling connected to the land. They’re intentionally versatile so your event, practice, or celebration can unfold in a way that feels grounded, seamless, and supported by the surroundings.
